Excited Noises

(+1)

I LOVED the new update! Loved Aya and (finally) getting to see Khemia, and I'm looking forward to the next update

Story, getting better and the changes too?

I wonder if adastra & interea are gettin' some juicy one's if you know what I mean.

The artist ended the visual identity created in Adastra and Interea, for the simple reason he wanted to.

This sounds ridiculous, the visual novel is not his entirely personal work for this decision to be ok, he is just the artist paid for it, now the art has just turned into a generic Bara, and some CGs were horrible, if I hadn't seen the original I wouldn't even have understood what that was supposed to be.

I had loved the visual upgrade that Khemia had in relation to Adastra, after what happened with Smoke Room in the final stretch of the project, + this abrupt change in Khemia's look, without a decent explanation other than "I'm sad to draw in this style, so I'm going to change it!" made me very unhappy with Echo Project in general, years waiting for updates for something that simply made me completely lose interest in the project. And no, it's not just that Bara has become generic, Adastra's cartoon art can also be considered generic, but it took two games to create an artistic style for such a sudden change to be made.

But it took two games to create an artistic style for such a sudden change to be made. If it were a completely new visual novel with no connection to Adastra, I wouldn't have any problem with the look, but they simply changed the entire look of the universe that I was attached to. Almost everything, the blatantly ugly scenarios remain, what a shame. They changed what was good to something bad, and what could be improved remains the same ugly.

In the end, that's my opinion.  T:

"I'm sad to draw in this style, so I'm going to change it!" Is a very shitty and minimizing way to summarize what Haps said, downplays what he's been dealing with and it makes you look like an insensitive asshole.

I'm really loving the redesigns. I honestly think a lot of the criticisms surrounding the new sprites just boils down to personal preference for most people. They're not the traditional chibi designs from Adastra and previous builds which I'm sure throws a lot of people off. But overall I think they're a huge improvement.

Had to make an account but the delay is because of the artist or idk if its the developer OR creator? I heard Haps is going on a break for mental health reasons

Devs in discord have said that they're finishing QA stuff and that the public build should be out very soon

(+2)(-3)

maybe it was canceled. i did hear some hate going around about the different art style maybe it put them off it TwT

(+2)

What? No . . . I'm not a fan of it either, but I'm so invested with the story.

I like both was just saying what I heard

I doubt they would cancel it

yeah, they obviously wouldn't, it's just a matter of time :)

No, it's not canceled from what I can tell. Currently, build 3 for the patreons was released 14 days ago, and if it was actually cancelled I would expect more communication on something that big for a project.

Though it is worrying that it's been a while with no updates. Moreover, the only mention for public release was in a now-deleted public Patreon post around 18 days ago on May 5.

It said "The public version of the third build will be released sometime in the first half of this month" (I was excited and screenshotted it), which is (obviously) now way past the first half. But seeing that it's deleted, my best guess now would be around June 8, assuming they want to wait a whole month after the Patreon release.
