So after taking two weeks to calm myself down I, against my better judgment, picked up this game again to try TJ's route. Even tho I knew what Leo's route did to me, I couldn't restrain myself from wanting to find some answers as to what is going on in Echo.
And now I'm done. I don't want to know or find out anything more. I'm just going to curl up in a ball and cry in a corner.
Ikr? I did that one first and it left me devastated. It's not about trying to save the characters anymore (since it looks like that won't be happening :_p) but I can't keep myself from wanting to know more.
Is there a good ending? Or at least one that won't make me wish to throw myself from a 1000th floor??? I just finished TJ's route and I feel like sh*t. I don't think I can bring myself to finish the other routes until I confirm there's something close to a good ending.

If you are looking for a game that, despite all the horrors and terrors scattered throughout it, ends on a good note, so you can finish it with a smile on your face and remember it fondly, or like me you get attached to the characters, feel what they feel, and just can't handle such sh*t like that, reconsider if you really want to play it.
Don't get me wrong, the game is amazing, and all in all I am glad I've played it, even tho it left me broken. Considering all the work that autors put into it I kinda loved it, but the ending... f*ck...
I don't think I will be able to think straight for weeks. I only finished (whole) Leo's route, and as much as I would like to expirience the stories of other characters, I don't think I can force myself to press the "New Game" button again.
This game is incredible at leading you into a fake feeling of safety, then completly ruining your happines, followed by a little speck of hope, and then smacking you across the face for beliving that things could turn out better.
Yeah, I know, some people like that kind of stuff. There should be a big f*cking red warning for p*ssies like me, tho.
Don't even get me started on Brian, I was so terrified and uncomfrtable around him.
It's kind of impressive actually, nothing furry related I have ever played comes any possible descripton of "close" to this.
But if you don't think much of the things I've mentioned, you will enjoy it.
So at first Leo seemed qenuine and caring, but deeper in the playthrough you can learn some not fun things about him, like his obsesion or how he always tries to control Chase, later his attatude towards anyone but Chase becomes agressive. At first I thought that it was just the "town curse" or something getting to him, and if he and Chase escape, all will be fine and dandy, but boy was I wrong. Chase didn't deserve it after all this, he really cared and riscked his life for Leo, and that is how Leo thanks him? By murduring him out of selfishness? Forget the thanking, shouldn't significant other at least TRY to save their other half?
Looking back I think I know what is happening (maybe). It's as if that "town curse" is amplifying the flaws within anyone it touches, including Leo, that would mean that Leo is as horrible as all the other maniacs in this town, it's just he is better at manipulating people into beliving otherwise, afterall his obsesion and agressive attatude started way before this whole madness.
And personaly, Kudzu is much better fit for Chase, he actually saved the guy couple of times. His ending is bittersweet as h*ll, but multitude times better that what Leo's looked like.
I still want to unwrap and learn what is really happening, I think I will see TJ's route next, tho I'll still need some more time to recover and prepear mentally for something this caliber. Inspite what I said previously, I cant leave all those questions in my head unanswered. So yeah, more pain and suffering coming right up.
That's kind of the point of Leo's true ending. yes the curse amplifys whats wrong with people. However Leo and chase's relationship has always been unhealthy. Which is why Chooseing to break up with him is bitter sweet. Right then and there he finally hear the words he needed to hear that chase never told him. Right then and there he learns the romantic relationship they had is not healthy. Right then and there he snaps out of the curse and the only way they will be happy if they both move on with there lifes.
OMG Leo's ending was simple too depressing for my taste T-T Imma cry everyday thinking of this now. He deserves so much better than that pleaseee make a happy ending for him i don't really care about the lenght :(
It would be wonderfull if when we are in the train going out echo, we could choose something like "kiss" and "not kiss" kuduzu. If we dont, then we go back to echo the day after the police arrive and well... There could be a happy ending with him, where they live in payton or something like that....
Kuduzu its a great character, but... When you do Leo's route, its because you want HIM, not the raccon jaja
This is so GOOD! This vn is very mysterious and very fun! The game doesnt give exact answers as to what is going on but playing this game overtime leads to some theories and playing others along this timeline will get you to the answer! I Love that the game isnt very sex based and can still show character relations! It always has this gloomy feeling hanging over it even during the good times. This game is very disturbing at times too and i LOVE THAT! 10/10 Would go back to echo again!

I understand that this is a VN of terror and everything but first of all it was made very short and second, from what happens in the restaurant only 30% of the rest of history you spend with him! It felt more like Kuduzu's route than Leo's. Just give us PLEASE the possibility of having a happy ending with him.
Anyway, in his route we dont even have a clue of whats fucking happening in Echo. Just that when we come back, we bring a lot of awfull memories and feelings
I know that feeling and you're right though, Chase and Leo is the most fit couple as far as ik and i loved it so much. But after the way Clint and Flynn talking so seriously about Leo's true nature (unstable), then since Leo finally known as 'Echo of Life'. For me the most rational reason is to reject him and made him realizing all his mistake. (you know what happened in the train if we didn't reject him)
And MAYBE it's quite possible to get happy ending with Leo IF he doesn't created as "one of the Echos" and doesn't have an unstable personality like he does in the game (idk that's ma opinion)
About what's really happening in Echo Town, maybe we need to pass all route such as carl, jenna, etc. And to knowing more about Sydney
I am completely fine with the ending if im being honest. I dont like leo because of the person he actually is and maybe thats how the novel wants us to see him but i guess he does have some good.
i strongly agree with you because their feeling is still threading together as a lover and if there's only another option before jumping on the train that designed for us to choose like "i love you, please be with me til the end of this nightmare and grow old together." Or something like this but less cheesy than this or even after the incident we escaped, left him behind and time passed, on the way to meet him again we can choose not to be raccoon's boyfriend and confess the feelings for Leo again even we can't be together anymore...
the echo of history as i am trying to avoid spoilers is about the founder of the town and his secret lover and there descendants to a crime that ether you will die trying to keep a secret or show reveal it and move on
Flynn's route was the first route I did. I really didn't like Flynn's ending. It felt really Anti climatic and when I thought there was going to be more to the story.... It ends and I still dont know what happened. Which is a shame. I liked Daxton. I wish he was more relevant to the plot.
Sitting on the ending for a day. I realize what my issue with the ending is. There is no resolve to his character conflict. Not saying it needs a happy ending but I feel like what happens to him could of been handled better on resolving his character conflict instead it ended on more questions then answers.
Playing threw all but Jenna's route. I see what was going on with Flynn's route more. However. Makes me wonder. Will there be a True ending route? Because if Jenna's play out as I think it will. I feel like this game would be proper suited if it had a true ending route.
I think only Carl's route and Leo's route have more than one end but...If you play all the other routes you may understand what really happened there. I be really disturbed with that end and sad with TJ's end. So after play the other ends I figure out the reality are not the reality.

Yes, Tony's just said it there but... I saw a handsome panda in Santa Lucia. The novel still short but... Have no full naked pics of him... I have been thinking about how he looked like in the moment I saw him naked.
Maybe when I get better I will just ask my bear friend to meet me as panda in Second Life. If my back stop to pain allowing me be able to sit front my computer.

I first heard of Echo Project from Studio Klondike/Orange Juice Dog's Astatos Kickstarter last year, and I have to say, I'm absolutely smitten with Echo (as well as Adastra and the Smoke Room).
I have to say, this, in all seriousness, has to be one of, if not, the best-written works I have ever read, and I'm not just talking about visual novels. All the characters are so genuine and flawed. I am astonished at how much work has gone into the writing. It has disturbed me, saddened me, and at several points, made me laugh out aloud as well. Absolutely remarkable.
As a gay furry who's a big fan of horror, Echo is everything I've ever wanted in an experience (well, except for a 'Golden Ending,' where everyone is happy and everything is resolved, but I know that's not what Echo is about).
If I was a richer man, I would definitely be pledging as much as I could for more and more works from Echo Project, but for now, I've been trying to tell as many people about these as I can.

this story is so beautiful, tragic, heart-breaking. It brings tears to my eyes... there's certain beauty to such dysphoria, misery, melancholy, sorrow and the horror of despair.

Hey~ This is the same guy from before and earlier I tried to download the game in my laptop but just like my phone's problem there have been some error and system said it's 'forbidden'. What does it mean?
I had no problems installing it in my Samsung tablet with Android 9. If the battery of my Alcatel phone with 6" screen and Android 7, didn't die. I could try in it.
A problem I had with others novels like Major/Minor and Lovers of Aether. Is that I never be able to do them work in none of my devices with Android 4. Only worked in my old Samsund tablet with Android 5.
Maybe I could try installing in my old Acer tablet with Android 4 too. I don't touch it in years. Since I only tried install stuff in my phones.

This game is incredible, incredible story and characters, extremely well made dialogues, I already finished Leo's route and now I'm starting the others, the story is so vivid that I was afraid of the characters meeting the creature, this game has so much potential. And for those of you who haven't yet donated, please donate, it really helps the developers.
Hello there, really a nice work. And recently I happened to read a book called"waterways" , written by kyell gold, at the same time playing this game. I'm wondering is there some connections between them. Cause I think their MCs are super similar.Otter and wolf (still think it as a red fox) in the game, while otter and red fox(yep) in the novel. And I think they have so much same characters. It made me so happy to both play and read😘
Played Leo's route and I was very angry and genuinely upset that I had to go on a walk, but now that I've cooled down, I appreciate the good ending because that's what both Chase and Leo deserve. They were in a toxic relationship, even from the start of it, and thus I think Leo deserves to be his own person rather than someone who obsesses over one guy. Chase fueled the fire so it wasn't helping anyone. While one can argue that they could've fixed it and grow as a couple, in which I will have to agree, that's just not the theme of the story. Maybe in another timeline? Hopefully? Please? If not I'm thankful this game exists. Thank you Echo Project and everyone who helped bring this game together!
I just played Flynn's route and the ending confused me so much. What the heck happened to Flynn? How did he become that... thing? I feels terrible and horrified at his ending. Sure he's a jerk but i don't think anyone deserve that fate and it only confused me further if it was just some hallucination...? Some kind of space and time loop that send "him" perhaps back to where TJ saw "him" and then that closet and worse is that possesion/madness thing at the end... I think i need a little time before i play the game again...
I found they added a Clarification text in Flynn Ending. In the version 0.43. But I have no idea where it is in the Android version. I don't even can load stuff from Help button in the Android 9.

It's really sad tho to see that most of the ending is bad (i just played TJ's route, Leo's route, and now on the way Flynn's route).
I think i have some of unanswered question. Like, is it really Sydney that wrote the whole Treasure Hunting thing? Yeah it's almost impossible, and i really think that someone made it. Also i think this only happened in TJ's route (or did it happened again in another route?). And in TJ's route, Carl was found with the paper of treasure hunting. In Leo's route, Carl wasn't found with the paper, that means they was never found the real killer? (In TJ's route, it was said that TJ killed Sydney). I need to play all the route to figure it out
Also, the game really freakin' me out because the first route i selected was a bad end. In the TJ's route, Chase is obsessed. In the Leo's route, Leo is obsessed.
Is there really no true end? Only Leo's route when Chase ended with Kudzu has a screen said "The End" is it supposed to be true ending? (or atleast that is the event that most supposedly to be happened?)
Yeah after Flynn's route, i'm going to check Jenna's and Carl's. Hope to get the answer to my unanswered question.

The treasure hunt was written by TJ. Chase and him feel guilty because they killed Sydney. The treasure hunt was a way for TJ to escape from his demon and a way to trap Chase in revealing that he is the one who killed Sydney.
I am confuse did TJ do this on purpose or was it a accident since. i don't know if they ever said it or not long time i played it. Then what really grind my gear is yeah what the heck is going on in Echo i mean in TSR we are getting why the hysteria started but not what the think is(so i hope the will be answere in cliff route).
Since is earn for closure i mean all bad ending i know it is a horro game but i would love to figure out what it is and how to counter it is this to much to ask.
Also i am sad for Sydney in Flynn route we get to know him and i am sad that he had to die.
Overall great game, amazing structer and pacing. It really prevents reading from being a chore unlike most projects of this style. leos route seams a bit forced though. The character interactions go from normal to out of character to contradicting previous interactions. I hope some story fixes are inorder to make it more cohesive.

Yes, TJ's end kick me down. Flynn's route is more spice but have a end that may confuse your mind in a very bad way.

I just got both endings in the same 20 minutes and I feel almost as destroyed as when I read Adastra.
BUT
DUDEEEEE. I started reading the Smoke Room BEFORE I started and finished ECHO... SO MUCH LINES UP ITS ACTUALLY AWESOME.
Man, Adastra had me crying my eyes out multiple times before the end. Such a great story.

Understand what really happen in Echo.
After 7 ends, I can't say I saw a happy end. Maybe a good end but I don't think a happy end. But the kind of story isn't to be expected a happy end.

Yes, Tony's just said it there but... I saw a handsome panda in Santa Lucia. The novel still short but... Have no full naked pics of him... I have been thinking about how he looked like in the moment I saw him naked.
Maybe when I get better I will just ask my bear friend to meet me as panda in Second Life. If my back stop to pain allowing me be able to sit front my computer.
I feel the same with Daxton in flynn's route. He has a shirtless sprite but never did we get to see a shirtless Daxton in game to gawk at.

I first heard of Echo Project from Studio Klondike/Orange Juice Dog's Astatos Kickstarter last year, and I have to say, I'm absolutely smitten with Echo (as well as Adastra and the Smoke Room).
I have to say, this, in all seriousness, has to be one of, if not, the best-written works I have ever read, and I'm not just talking about visual novels. All the characters are so genuine and flawed. I am astonished at how much work has gone into the writing. It has disturbed me, saddened me, and at several points, made me laugh out aloud as well. Absolutely remarkable.
As a gay furry who's a big fan of horror, Echo is everything I've ever wanted in an experience (well, except for a 'Golden Ending,' where everyone is happy and everything is resolved, but I know that's not what Echo is about).
If I was a richer man, I would definitely be pledging as much as I could for more and more works from Echo Project, but for now, I've been trying to tell as many people about these as I can.

I had no problems installing it in my Samsung tablet with Android 9. If the battery of my Alcatel phone with 6" screen and Android 7, didn't die. I could try in it.
A problem I had with others novels like Major/Minor and Lovers of Aether. Is that I never be able to do them work in none of my devices with Android 4. Only worked in my old Samsund tablet with Android 5.
Maybe I could try installing in my old Acer tablet with Android 4 too. I don't touch it in years. Since I only tried install stuff in my phones.

Excuse me but I need some help here...I'm new to this vn genre game and 2 months ago I'd downloaded it in my phone and I've finished the Flynn's route and I thought that was the 'end' of the game so I deleted it(and like I said I'm new)but when I tried to download the game again, I got some problems like it only download halfway through and then the system said that the download failed. I tried again multiple times but I still can't download it and it's stressed me out. Please help with this problem. Thank you Q~Q.
This game is incredible, incredible story and characters, extremely well made dialogues, I already finished Leo's route and now I'm starting the others, the story is so vivid that I was afraid of the characters meeting the creature, this game has so much potential.

Hello there, really a nice work. And recently I happened to read a book called"waterways" , written by kyell gold, at the same time playing this game. I'm wondering is there some connections between them. Cause I think their MCs are super similar.Otter and wolf (still think it as a red fox) in the game, while otter and red fox(yep) in the novel. And I think they have so much same characters. It made me so happy to both play and read😘

Played Leo's route and I was very angry and genuinely upset that I had to go on a walk, but now that I've cooled down, I appreciate the good ending because that's what both Chase and Leo deserve. They were in a toxic relationship, even from the start of it, and thus I think Leo deserves to be his own person rather than someone who obsesses over one guy. Chase fueled the fire so it wasn't helping anyone. While one can argue that they could've fixed it and grow as a couple, in which I will have to agree, that's just not the theme of the story. Maybe in another timeline? Hopefully? Please? If not I'm thankful this game exists. Thank you Echo Project and everyone who helped bring this game together!

I just played Flynn's route and the ending confused me so much. What the heck happened to Flynn? How did he become that... thing? I feels terrible and horrified at his ending. Sure he's a jerk but i don't think anyone deserve that fate and it only confused me further if it was just some hallucination...? Some kind of space and time loop that send "him" perhaps back to where TJ saw "him" and then that closet and worse is that possesion/madness thing at the end... I think i need a little time before i play the game again...

I found they added a Clarification text in Flynn Ending. In the version 0.43. But I have no idea where it is in the Android version. I don't even can load stuff from Help button in the Android 9.

It's really sad tho to see that most of the ending is bad (i just played TJ's route, Leo's route, and now on the way Flynn's route).
I think i have some of unanswered question. Like, is it really Sydney that wrote the whole Treasure Hunting thing? Yeah it's almost impossible, and i really think that someone made it. Also i think this only happened in TJ's route (or did it happened again in another route?). And in TJ's route, Carl was found with the paper of treasure hunting. In Leo's route, Carl wasn't found with the paper, that means they was never found the real killer? (In TJ's route, it was said that TJ killed Sydney). I need to play all the route to figure it out
Also, the game really freakin' me out because the first route i selected was a bad end. In the TJ's route, Chase is obsessed. In the Leo's route, Leo is obsessed.
Is there really no true end? Only Leo's route when Chase ended with Kudzu has a screen said "The End" is it supposed to be true ending? (or atleast that is the event that most supposedly to be happened?)
Yeah after Flynn's route, i'm going to check Jenna's and Carl's. Hope to get the answer to my unanswered question.

The treasure hunt was written by TJ. Chase and him feel guilty because they killed Sydney. The treasure hunt was a way for TJ to escape from his demon and a way to trap Chase in revealing that he is the one who killed Sydney.
I am confuse did TJ do this on purpose or was it a accident since. i don't know if they ever said it or not long time i played it. Then what really grind my gear is yeah what the heck is going on in Echo i mean in TSR we are getting why the hysteria started but not what the think is(so i hope the will be answere in cliff route).
Since is earn for closure i mean all bad ending i know it is a horro game but i would love to figure out what it is and how to counter it is this to much to ask.
Also i am sad for Sydney in Flynn route we get to know him and i am sad that he had to die.

Overall great game, amazing structer and pacing. It really prevents reading from being a chore unlike most projects of this style. leos route seams a bit forced though. The character interactions go from normal to out of character to contradicting previous interactions. I hope some story fixes are inorder to make it more cohesive.
The twin peaks reference on Jenna's route made me really happy lol. God I love this game so much thank y'all so much for doing what you do
