Why hasn't Amicus grown at all? In this work, he comes across as extremely immature, completely unlike what an emperor should be. Clearly, in the main story of Adastra, he had enough confidence and ability to face any challenge, and before the humans left, he showed signs of having egalitarian thoughts (except on the day of the date when he acted like a jerk out of frustration from the plan failing). Yet, in the current timeline, he somehow appears to me as an arrogant and incompetent figure. For now, I'm interpreting it as him losing his composure due to worry about the human's situation, and I hope there's a better explanation later on!

yeahhhh, I also hope that this might be explained later on

oh. horribly frustrating that the entire fourth build covers only a single day, with a cliffhanger at the end. i guess i can't really be that upset since it's free and all, i just kinda hoped they'd have the momentum to make larger updates by now

Guys, don't worry about the adastra sequal, here's some trace of hint in the Khemia

Not absolutely sure that it refers to THE human tho

oh i mean it's gotta be. Meta-wise it'd be insane for them to be referring to someone we've never met. What interests me is that the uplift working is so unlikely. And in the slide after this there's an abysmal likelyhood of it happening before "arrival". Maybe that's Marco arriving back to Adastra in a few years, or maybe he's gonna arrive at Khemia. That'd be fun

yeah, I agree. The likelihood is so small and I don’t know what that means. But luckily we got some hint that there could possibly be scenarios about Marco

haven’t played the update yet, but wether this timeline is some future where humanity is Prospering? Or can somehow attain and sustain that many humans (Over two trillion Humans), why wouldn’t the devs just do somewhere in the 8. 2 billion(s) or lower,(since that’s around the current population of Earth)? That just seems so far fetched if the game is ment to be based off current Or somewhat current Real-World-Present-Day humanity if it were being integrated into  sibling status (that just caught me off guard Especially if it’s possibly alluding to Marco?)

That number probably refers to the identification code of intelligent life forms in the entire universe or the Galaxias.

When it came out back in 2020, it was unpleasant to see it bashed pretty early in development and devastating for it to go on hiatus. Of course, it had its flaws and wasn't perfect, yet I eagerly awaited its return. After years, it receives a revamp with new dialogue and scenes altered to fit the current narrative. Of course, mixed opinions would arise with the art direction, and at first, it wasn't a big deal for me, per se, but the sprites are mundane as they've lost the soul Adastra had. The cgs are decent at best, with some being magnificent and the rest looking unfinished, which could be a stylistic choice Haps is going for. I especially agree with some calling the sprites very Bara-like or flat out caricatures, but my optimism remained with the plot. With the new update, I'm torn if I should continue the story at all. One of the big mysteries within Adastra consists of Neferus' backstory, primarily why he's being punished and his true intentions. With high expectations and Neferu taking center stage in Khemia, you'd believe it to be climatic or a revelation to his character and getting an understanding of him. To put it briefly, when Neferu opens up about his past for his extremist behavior, it was underwhelming.

For how much build-up we had since found out about his hardship, and for Scipio's reaction to be so disconnected from the reveal was a total letdown. Mind you, the root of Scipio's resentment with Adastran's lower class is due to their violent, uneducated, prideful habits, and it's well established how it impacts him, including the attacks that haunt him throughout his journey. With this information, you'd expect Neferu's confession to trigger some kind of distaste, feel conflicted, or even a reassessment of trust. Instead, we get “Don't worry Neferu, I'd probably do the same”, like what?? You could argue his actions were about a decade old, so it doesn't have much of an impact on Scipio, but his wounds are fresh and are integral to his trauma. Negating it would also be saying “It's been like three years, get over it”.

I've seen some arguable takes if Scipio is even a good lead, often compared to Marco, but I possibly think Howly doesn't get Scipio as a character, as it consists of him not being put in a specific direction. If I'm going to be honest, there's so much more I could add as to why this scene irked me, even outside the topic, but this is the straw that broke the camels for me.

I do partially agree, I love all the sprites apart from Amicus’s which seems to flat in my opinion.
But in my opinion, I think the reason Scipio says “Don’t worry I’d do the same” is a partially because as stated in the story, he’s mostly been told just to “man up”. Though I do feel like a bit of resentment or at least mixed feelings about Nefuru should have been sparked in Scipio.

I do have my own gripes, like how Scipio in some lines seems a bit overly sterile, with little to no character in some lines. But overall I’m personally happy with the story as it is so far.

Yea, the sprites were a sincere downgrade from the first game, if I could say that some escaped, it would only be Nefero and Cassius, but only a little.

I think that just putting the sprites from the first game for Amicus would be enough

same

It's ridiculous, honestly. The whole credit card censors or whatever

I suggest joining the fan discord server, as their pretty quick to ping everyone when the Patreon and public releases are out.

Except I have been having this problem long before the whole credit card situation, like, for a year at least

and it only happens with The Echo Project

The last update of anything TEP I got was the final Arches release in October of last year

Glory Hounds pocket edition 2 and issue 4; A Role to Play builds 4 and 5; Khemia rework and builds 2 to 4

I wasn't notified of any of it through Itchio's feed

I had to find out either through Twitter, Reddit, or a YouTube Let's Play

I think Khemia is a reality check for the Adastra universe. I had this romantisized idea of the Galaxias after playing Adastra, but I love that the Echo Project has taken a different approach with Khemia. As a guy I've always wanted to be in the place of Marco in Adastra, but I never considered what that would be like for a woman in Adastran society and I am glad that Khemia explores that flaw. I thought that the Alliance with the Khemians would be very straight forward especally since Amicus is friends with one of the sons of the Pharaoh. However, the suspiciously advanced Khemian-built tech and classified information that even the son of the Pharaoh isn't allowed to know, again emphasises the complex politics and shatters that romanticised image I had of the Adastra Universe as a whole. Thank you Echo Project for creating such a captivating piece of fiction and art <3!
