This is something of a midquel, taking place during the several-month tour you and Amicus that's skipped over during Adastra. Khemia is a sequel that takes place during the interim after Adastra but before you and Amicus reunite; you play as a completely different character in Khemia.
Yeah, on their Patreon you can see using the titles you can tell that Haps is remaking (or reshading?) sprites (like Nefuru, and a few others too blurry to tell) so I'm excited to see those someday!!
Im actually more confused on how the storyline goes.
Does it go from adastra to interea then to khemia?
if so shouldn't interea be finished first or is it adastra, khemia and then interea?
Additionally, for the people that are impatient with the lack of updates, echoproject has said (from different comments ive read) that they are working on TSR (the smoke room) which I personally have invested time into and considerably is a good VN to read. after TSR Adastra's series will definitely continue. I hope the team stays healthy and get their sleep!
I really really enjoyed Adastra and this companion to it is some good icing on an excellent cake. From the content there was I can say it's fantastic and I yearn for more. Whenever I get the money to do so I will definitely support Echo Project on Patreon. In the meantime I will keep a hopeful look out for the continuation/completion of this VN.
Yo sabia de la existencia de amicus, por.. dibujos de paginas, pero no sabia que tenia un juego de novela visual, nisiquiera sabia en ese momento que existian juegos asi con estas tematicas furrys, sino 3 años despues a mis 17 años conoci Adastra, como vi que tenia la imagen de aquel lobo que veia en esas paginas decidi entrar, wow.. me lleve de sorpresa una muy hermosa historia que me dejo un vacio que hasta ahora se desespera por ser llenado con la continuacion, y realmente pense que la historia termino ahi, de no ser por que en busca de mas novelas visuales decidi visitar la pagina de Eco project y aparte de "khemia" entre a "Interea" para darme la sorpresa de que es la continuacion de Adastra... y ver que no se ah actualizado hasta ahora.. no se lo que paso, pero espero este gran proyecto no sea descartado.
Exactly, people need to learn to be patient… and you know what? If they decided to cancel the project, they can. And if the fanbase keeps it up with harrassment… that very well could happen.
I don’t wanna see the time they put into their story be tossed into the flowing river, they clearly put a lot of effort into their work… and I would hate to see it happen if they decided it wasn’t worth it, BECAUSE OF ZED FANBASE.
So to anybody else reading this comment, listen to me & stop being a crybaby, be patient and stop acting like a toddler who doesn’t get their way, you aren’t helping the project and only causing stress to the person making it.. and if it gets too bad, I can see Echo Project canceling it for their health.
And to those that are completely mature adults and aren’t harrassing Echo Project, give them your best wishes to their future work & to the people who are stressed by the entire situation.
From what i've heard Echo is going back to finish off some older projects like The Smoke Room before coming back to the newer ones but it could also be just a burnt out on the series all together. So the best thing we can do is wait.
Just finished it, it's very short and clearly a Work In Progress, I wonder if they will continue it someday.
So far they said that they are going to focus on Khemia, and since this is mostly a 'fan-service' story rather than anything else, I don't expect them to work much into this story for now.
It was still a fantastic read and I recommend everyone to keep an eye on it once it's finished. Of course read Adastra first before starting this one.

Extremely underrated compared compared to the other Adastra sequel, hopefully it finishes eventually.
